It’s great to meet you.

Weyt'k, My name is Megan McKenna.

My family comes from both Secwepemc and European lands. I grew up on the west coast of BC and have been living here in the Yukon on the territory of the Kwanlin Dün and the Ta'an Kwäch'än since 2018.

My husband and I have two young daughters, both born at home with vastly different birth and postpartum stories. They have honoured me with the experience of completely falling apart and beginning my self-discovery journey as their mother. Feeling strong and grounded through birth, navigating challenging postpartum experiences and finding my way through, empowered me to pursue my dream of Small Bear Doula Care.

As a long-time advocate for maternal-infant attachment and well being, I have been supporting Yukon families perinatally, since moving here. I have held several positions in this field, and in this role, I am here to support you with the baby and the house but also be your listening ear and your biggest fan. I arrive free of judgment or expectation and join the flow of your home and your parenting style. While I greatly value evidence-based practice and academia, I also acknowledge the teachings I have gained from community, and front-line relations, they truly ground my work.

Know that you are doing GREAT and I can't wait to meet you and your little one!

Hi, I’m Megan
